Independence Day

Coming back after a two year Covid induced gap and buoyed by the spirit of the 75th year of India Independence, the children, alumni and teachers of GHPS came together for an unforgettable event. The pictures and links below will provide you with a narrow window into the events of the day.  We were very happy that the entire community around GHPS showed up to participate in the celebrations.

Beginning with a march past in the local community at 8 AM, the celebrations continued till 10:30 with many cultural performances by children of all ages.  We had tiny tots from Class 1, 2 and 3 regale us with speeches in English and Kannada, and dances.  We had students in class 4 – 6 present an amazingly choreographed dance performance to famous tunes such as Jai Ho.  And the piece de resistance was the dance/drama by class 7 students who enacted the life story of the many martyrs in our armed forces in a spell binding manner.
