Towards the end of year 2023 (Dec 30th, 2023), RH conducted their third special run event in memory of their dear friend Ravi Gangappa, whose birthday falls on Jan 1st. Several runners participated in this event which started from the campus of Gubbalala School and circled till Turahalli forest. Students from GHPS (both alumni and primary school) participated in a shorter run along with the marathoners. After the run, a short dance and yoga event was showcased by the students. All participants, staff and students were also provided a sumptuous breakfast as part of this event. The amount raised will be added to existing corpus, to fund the RG Scholarship program. Overall, it was a very fun filled event for both the RH team and students of GHPS.

Several runners participated in this event which started from the campus of Gubbalala School and circled till Turahalli forest. Students from GHPS (both alumni and primary school) participated in a shorter run along with the marathoners. After the run, students showcased their academic skills through a few hands-on exhibits , presented a few song/dance numbers and casually interacted with the members of RH team. The amount raised as part of this event will be added to existing corpus to fund the RG Scholarship program. Overall, it was a very fun filled event for both the RH team and students of GHPS.

In the year 2022, RH decided to conduct a special run event in memory of their dear friend Ravi Gangappa. Several runners participated in this fund raising event culminating in a run event on Jan 1st 2022. A bit of background and images as part of this run event:
” Ravi was a dear friend of Runner’s High for close to a decade. Much of what we are as a community is also a reflection of how Ravi was as a person. He was always ready to take on any challenge with courage and conviction. He was never perturbed by changing circumstances around him. He would give his best with passion and enjoy the journey to the hilt. A man of few words who ensured the words meant a lot to everyone around him when he spoke. Ravi’s running had a more significant meaning than his own goals. He paced and mentored so many friends in the community in a selfless manner that all of us can attest to. He was kind and compassionate, ever supportive all the causes we worked for. Ravi also supported the Gubbalala Government Higher Secondary School near our K2 (Kanakapura road) running route. Ravi and his close group of friends from Runner’s High in Jayanagar came together in a multitude of ways to celebrate what our community stands for. Ravi, though soft-spoken, will always remain tall and a person we look up to.
At Runner’s High, we have a crazy bunch of ultra-marathoners who call themselves the JLBR – Jobless Long Boring Runners. Ravi is and will always be an integral part of this buddy group in Runner’s High. He inspired many of us to take on crazy adventures in the trails and mountains. Ravi’s life was a celebration of courage, joy, and love for ultra running. There can’t be a better tribute for him than his running buddies coming together for a run on his birthday. On January 1st, 2022, we plan to have a running event where many of us will do our ultras with Ravi in our thoughts and hearts. We also hope to raise funds for the worthy cause that Ravi supported – The Gubbalala Government School initiative led by Tranquil Charity Foundation and supported by Sai Vishwanath Memorial Trust “

In the 10th year of their founding, RH teams adopted TCF as a charity partner and developed the library at GHPS (Gubbalala Higher Primary School). The library was opened in the 2019 academic year and contains a multimedia environment for students to learn, apart from housing several books, science kits, other teacher material.
